Training young footballers in Zaria, Kaduna State since 2020 — building the skill, discipline and character it takes to go further in the game.
Founded in 2020 in Zaria, Kaduna State, Wella Football Academy trains and molds young footballers — not just in technique, but in the discipline and mindset it takes to succeed in the game and in life.
We work with players across every stage of development, from our youngest age groups right through to adults, giving every player a structured path to grow at their own pace under coaches who care about who they become, not just how they play.
Structured programs for every stage of a player's development, from our youngest recruits to our senior squad.
We also welcome adult players looking to train seriously and stay competitive — enquire about our open sessions.
Every player who steps onto our pitch dreams of a moment like this. Moses David started out right here, training on these same grounds before his talent carried him further than most academies ever get to see.
His journey took him through Czech football, working his way up through a top-flight academy before earning a move to one of the country's biggest clubs at the end of 2024. Since then, he's become a regular in midfield — and in 2025, he lined up in the UEFA Champions League against Arsenal, one of the biggest stages in club football.
His story is proof of what's possible from Wella Football Academy: with the right training, discipline and belief, a boy from Zaria can end up playing on Europe's biggest stage.
Too many talented young footballers never make it — not because they lack skill, but because of choices made off the pitch. Some fall in with the wrong crowd and lose focus. Others ease off on training the moment they start attracting attention, thinking they've already arrived. Many neglect their education, leaving them with nothing to fall back on if football doesn't work out the way they hoped. Some simply struggle with discipline — showing up late, brushing off their coaches, or getting distracted by fame before they've built anything worth protecting.
At Wella Football Academy, we don't just teach football — we build character alongside skill. Our coaches mentor players on discipline, respect and consistency from day one, and we encourage every player to stay in school and take their education seriously. Every session is about more than drills; it's about shaping young people who can handle success when it comes, and bounce back when things get hard. That's the standard behind every player who comes through our academy.
Kolawole Joseph founded Wella Football Academy in 2020 with a simple goal: give young footballers in Zaria a place to develop real skill alongside real discipline. As Head Coach, he leads every training session and mentors players through every age group, from first touch to first-team readiness.
